Owning a reactive dog can feel incredibly isolating. The pulled arms.
The apologising.
The tension every time you spot another dog in the distance.
The feeling that everyone else somehow got the “easy dog”.
We know that for many owners, life with a reactive dog slowly becomes smaller. Walk times change. Routes change. Confidence disappears. And eventually, some people stop talking about it altogether because they’re tired of feeling judged, embarrassed, or misunderstood.
This free support session has been created to change that.
Join Phil and Linda from Dereham Dog Academy for a relaxed, judgement-free hour designed specifically for owners of reactive dogs.
Although this is a Dereham Dog Academy event, we’ll be hosting it over at Dereham Dog Den … mainly because the coffee is better.
There will be no dogs present at this session — just people who understand what it feels like to live with the challenges that reactivity can bring.
This is not a formal training class. It’s an opportunity to:
Meet other owners experiencing similar struggles
Talk openly without fear of judgement
Ask questions
Share experiences
Receive practical advice and guidance
Feel a little less alone in all of this
Whether your dog reacts through barking, lunging, fear, frustration, anxiety or overwhelm, you are welcome here.
Sometimes the most important thing an owner can hear is: “It’s not just me.”
