✂️Reinvent - Repair - Rewear✂️
Community skill sharing workshop in conjunction with Sustainable Fashion Week UK 2024. Hosted by sustainable fashion designer Laura Basevi and accessories designer Becca Parker from To Be Adorned. Located this year, in the heart of Bournemouth at Bobby's.
In the UK an estimated 13 million items end up in landfill each week! It's time to take action to make do and mend the clothes already in existence.
✂️ Following the SFW 'repair' theme this year we will focus on visible mending techniques and upcycling with tassels and pom pom making.
✂️Bring along a garment that you would like to repair or reinvent, with guidance from Laura and Becca if needed. There will be a few sewing machines available to use.
✂️ It's a relaxed atmosphere and a chance to reconnect with others.
About your hosts
Becca Parker is a designer-maker in Bournemouth, creating sustainable accessories for colour lovers. She embraces using multiple revenue streams as part of her small business, channeling her creativity into events, passive income and freelance writing too.
Laura Basevi is a fashion designer with a love for vintage textiles and a passion for ethical and sustainable design. She creates beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces by hand from her Bournemouth studio.
