4,000–5,000 years ago, people journeyed here from Europe carrying beautifully crafted clay pots known as beakers. The carefully decorated objects held deep meaning in everyday life and ceremony. Today, these discoveries continue to connect Lincolnshire with stories shared across Britain and Europe.
Inspired by this ancient Beaker Culture, Vessel Projects has worked with hundreds of people to create contemporary beakers for a striking artwork installation at Sandilands this summer, bringing together art, landscape and shared heritage in a unique outdoor experience.
