RCKC: Fundraising Event for the Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra
About this Event
The Rotary Club of Kensington & Chelsea (RCKC) are excited to again support ticket sales for our partners, the Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra (KPO), for their Summer Concert on Saturday 27th June at 7.30pm at St Gabriel’s Church, Warwick Square, Pimlico, SW1V 2AD.
We are proud partners, selling tickets to music lovers and community supporters while donating tickets to Age UK Kensington & Chelsea to benefit local older residents. Experience an enchanting live orchestral performance, connect with fellow supporters, and contribute to sustaining vibrant community arts and social inclusion.
This is your chance to support world-class music and make a meaningful impact. We encourage everyone to support this partnership by purchasing tickets for themselves, family, or friends, or by buying tickets that will be donated to our community partners Age UK Kensington & Chelsea to benefit older citizens in our borough.
Concert details:
The concert starts with Weber’s Oberon Overture which takes us to a realm of knights and forest spirits from the very first notes played by the solo horn – the magical instrument of King Oberon. Katya Grabova then joins the orchestra for one of the most loved works in the repertoire: Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, famed for its soaring melodies, intense passion, and lush orchestration. The evening ends with Dvorak’s Symphony No. 5. Often called his "Pastoral" symphony, it is one of his sunniest pieces, capturing the rustic charm and folk-inspired rhythms of the Bohemian countryside and filled with glorious melodies.
Our soloist:
Katya is establishing herself as one of the most compelling young pianists of her generation. She has performed at major music festivals including Rheingau Musik Festival and Leeds International Concert Season. She made her solo recital debut at Wigmore Hall last November, supported by Royal Academy of Music.
