For more than three decades, Ray Keith has stood at the forefront of drum & bass culture. Emerging from the UK's early rave movement, he helped shape the sound of jungle through groundbreaking productions, legendary DJ performances, and an uncompromising commitment to underground music. Often referred to as one of the "Godfathers of Drum & Bass," Keith's influence extends across generations of artists, labels, and dancefloors worldwide.
His career launched into prominence with his iconic remix of Orbital's "Chime" and continued through a catalog of seminal releases that helped define the sound of 1990s jungle. As the founder of Dread Recordings, Keith has spent more than thirty years championing new talent and pushing the evolution of bass music while maintaining one of the most respected independent labels in electronic music history.
Today, Ray Keith remains a global ambassador for drum & bass, touring internationally and delivering the high-energy performances that have made him a favorite among dedicated junglists and new fans alike. His projects, including Renegade Live, continue to expand the boundaries of the genre, while his autobiography, Dark Soldier, offers a firsthand account of the birth and rise of UK rave culture.
