Raw Milk Drop Off
Advertisement
We will be attempting our first drop off for raw milk. I plan to leave here and head straight to the tractor supply parking lot and should be there between 4:45 and 5:00 pm. From there, I will do a second drop off at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. My third drop off point will be in Iola on my way back in the Jumpstart parking lot. I’m looking at 5:00-5:30 at Tractor Supply, then making the rounds and being in Iola by 6:15. These times are subject to wiggle room depending on traffic.
I will plan to have 10 gallons of milk available. They will come in 1/2 gallon jars. You will be charged a $3.00 core if you take a jar but if you bring an empty half gallon ball type (doesn’t have to be ball brand) with a white plastic screw on lid, the core charge is waived.
This date is subject to change. Lucille is due to calve June 17th and I will need to ensure she is healthy and her milk is safe prior to confirming 100% and prior to confirming availability.
At this time, I can ensure that I will have 10 gallons available. 5 1/2 of those gallons are already spoken for. I may have more but don’t want to over promise.
If you would like to reserve some, please private message me with how much.
I would like to reiterate, that to reserve milk and to pick up, you HAVE to have been to the farm and signed the affidavit prior to the drop off date. I will not accept reservations without this. If you would like to do this and receive a tour, we milk at 6:00 pm daily. You are welcome to come observe and ask questions or schedule another time that is convenient for you.
For the first drop off, chocolate milk and ice cream may be available but also may not. We make these products in small batches and one batch takes 24 hours to make. If I do not have that available for this first run, I will on the next run.
I ask that if you reserve to pick up, please be there on time. Transporting raw milk and raw milk products requires refrigeration and I want to ensure I am providing a top quality and safe product.
If anyone other than myself posts on this event that they are in charge of it, that is a scam. Please do not respond to them. I will try and make sure I delete posts like that as I see them.
Milk prices are:
$6.00/gallon
$3.00/half gallon
Ice cream
$8.50/1/2 gallon tub
Chocolate milk
$8.00/gallon
$4.00/half gallon
As the date gets closer and once we are milling Lucille again, I will be able to post a definite availability.
The day of the drop off, I will post on this event when I leave the farm, arrive in Chanute, and are heading to Iola to help folks know when I will be at the drop off points.
Please private message or text me if you have any additional questions I didn’t catch here!
