Description: Rats have lived side by side with humans for decades and are infamous for their potential to carry diseases. Today, significant amounts of money are spent to keep rat populations under control, but the effects of the control efforts on rats have not been thoroughly researched. In this talk, I will discuss rats in the city of Helsinki, how they may be affected by control efforts, their movement behaviour, and the diseases they may carry.
