Etter drapet på Tamima Nibras Juhar ble mange av oss minnet på at rasisme og diskriminering ikke bare er store ord i nyhetsbildet – men virkelighet for mennesker vi studerer og jobber sammen med. Flere studenter forteller om blikk, kommentarer og opplevelser i undervisning og praksis som setter spor, men som sjelden blir rapportert videre. Nå ønsker vi å bryte stillheten. Å snakke ærlig, lytte åpent – og stå sammen for endring. Seminaret er arrangert av studenter ved Det medisinske fakultet ved UiO, med støtte fra LIM-utvalget ved fakultetet, Norsk medisinstudentforening (Nmf) og NSF Student, og samler 18 studentforeninger som står sammen mot rasisme og diskriminering i helseutdanningene.

After the murder of Tamima Nibras Juhar, many of us were reminded that racism and discrimination are not just big words that appear on the news – but a reality for people we study and work with. Several students speak of looks, comments and experiences in teaching and placement that leave a mark, but which are rarely reported. Now we want to break the silence. To speak in an honest manner, listen attentively – and stand together for change. The seminar is organized by students at the Faculty of Medicine at UiO, with support from the DEI committee at the faculty, the Norwegian Medical Student Association (Nmf) and NSF Student, and brings together 18 student associations that stand together against racism and discrimination in health sciences.
