About this Event
This documentary captures - in a simple, beautiful, powerful way - legendary director Jean-Luc Godard secretly making a movie on a cruise ship.
With special guest at Q&A after the screening (either director of movie or a local Godard expert or festival programmer).
Rarely screened documentary. Last time it was shown in NYC was in 2019 at Lincoln Center (as far as we know). Special thanks to director Paul Grivas for making the film available to show at the new film festival 3I/Atlas Film Festival, Brooklyn in Greenpoint - this screening is a film festival screening.

"“Film Catastrophe” includes copious outtakes from “Film Socialisme” that show, with wondrous admiration, Godard at work with original methods that are simultaneously casual and meticulous, spontaneous and stringent—and that are inseparable from the artistic results onscreen." - Richard Brody, The New Yorker
