Come and see a huge range of Rare Breeds animals at the Christchurch Show from Thursday, November 14th until Saturday, November 16th. There will be cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, alpacas, horses, rabbits and poultry of all shapes and sizes.
Come and have a look at a family of Waipu goats - they are rarer than the Kakapo and right there at the show for everyone to admire. There will be several different breeds of sheep - with and without horns, self shedding or woolly, coloured or white. A display of Arapawa Island breeds will also be there. The history of these breeds goes back to Captain Cook - or even before - and there will be the full set of animals: Arapawa Pigs, Arapawa Sheep and Arapawa Goats.
If you prefer the smaller animals, there will be rabbits and chickens.
Or if you'd like to see a selection of Rare Breeds horses - we'll have it all, right there at the show. Come and have a look, take a photo and take plenty of memories home with you of animals that are hardly ever seen in public.
