RAP Invites! is Riverside Avondale Preservation’s new quarterly community social gathering that encourages neighbors to explore unique spaces within the neighborhood while enjoying a variety of topics and activities. Each event creates an environment where community members can connect, share ideas, and support local enterprises. These gatherings offer a fun way to engage with neighbors, celebrate local talent, explore our neighborhood, and foster a deeper sense of community. This February, we are excited to kick off the RAP Invites! series with “For The Birds,” a celebration of birding and nature at Boone Park North. Birders will have a chance to learn about birding with Tim Akin, a member of Duval Audubon. Further, visit Boone Park’s recently renovated community center, which can be the host of your next nature-based event. This event is open to birders of all experience levels, including beginners, and we encourage anyone interested in birds or nature to join us.
“For The Birds” is an extension of the “Great Backyard Bird Count,” a global event where birders and nature enthusiasts spend time observing, counting, and learning about bird behavior, migration, and populations.
Whether you’re an experienced birder, love nature, or just starting to learn about birds, this event offers a chance to connect with others and deepen your understanding of local wildlife.
If you love birds and your neighborhood, join us as we kick off RAP Invites! on February 14. It’s a great opportunity to explore nature, meet fellow nature lovers, and celebrate the beauty of the world around us!
