About this Event

THE ART OF PRSENCE is a week-long Voice Movement Immersion intensive developed by international artist and Voice Movement Therapist RANDOLPH MATTHEWS.

Bringing together voice, body, presence and atmosphere, this immersive experience offers a space to slow down, reconnect and explore the relationship between expression, creativity and authentic human connection.

Working with voice not as performance, but as a living expression of who we are, participants are invited into a process of remembering through movement, vocal exploration, reflection and shared experience.

The week unfolds like an urban retreat, creating spaciousness within everyday life while offering time for curiosity, rest and deeper listening.

THE VOICE MOVEMENT IMMERSION APPROACH

Voice Movement Immersion is Randolph Matthews' evolving methodology, developed through more than thirty years of artistic practice, Voice Movement Therapy training and international collaboration.

Built around the principles of Voice, Body, Presence, Atmosphere and Remembering, the work creates multiple entrance points into the same experience.

Participants explore these principles through Voice Movement Scores, embodied practices, improvisation, reflection and creative inquiry.

The approach invites people not to find their voice, but to remember the voice that was there all along.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This intensive is designed for artists, facilitators, educators, therapists and curious human beings who feel drawn towards creativity, presence and embodied ways of living and working.

Previous experience in Voice Movement work is not necessary.

What matters most is a willingness to explore, a sense of curiosity and a desire to remember more of yourself and support others in remembering themselves.

Whether your interest is personal, creative or professional, the work offers multiple pathways into the experience.

WHY JOIN?

Many people today feel disconnected from themselves, their creativity or their sense of presence within there chosen work.

This week offers an opportunity to slow down and reconnect with what already exists beneath the noise.

Together we will explore how voice, body and presence influence the atmospheres we create in our relationships, our creative practices, our teaching, facilitation and everyday lives.

Participants often leave with a greater sense of embodiment, clarity, confidence and connection.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Throughout the week participants will explore:

Voice and movement improvisation
• Embodied awareness practices
• The exploration of the primal voice

• Individual and group processes
• Reflection and shared dialogue
• Voice Movement Scores and creative prompts
• Opportunities to connect the work to personal and professional life

The final stage of the intensive adopts a laboratory approach, giving participants the opportunity to explore practical applications of the work, ask questions, receive individual guidance and investigate how Voice Movement Immersion can support their own creative practice, facilitation, teaching or therapeutic work.

The atmosphere throughout the week is supportive, playful and non-performative. Participants are always encouraged to work at their own pace.
