community rich with Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian, African, and Mediterranean cultures, Tarik's cooking is a flavorful fusion of spices. Beyond the kitchen, he unites
communities through platforms like Morning Star and Midnight Mecca, providing culinary opportunities for youth. His latest ventures include Cooka T’s, a successful vegan concession stand at Lumen Field, and Amin, a pop-up showcasing dishes inspired by his Seattle roots and love for spices.
About Villa Jerada:
Villa Jerada is an award winning Moroccan & Levantine pantry products that celebrate ancestral culinary traditions. Mehdi Boujrada, owner and founder of Villa Jerada, grew up in Casablanca, Morocco. He started his company because he wanted to share a piece of his culture with his friends and community in the US. Villa Jerada’s offerings, made from the highest quality, most painstakingly sustainable ingredients are my love letter to the flavors of the Levantine region, a place in the world that is so much richer and more beautiful that many in the west know. Read my letters in the form of bright chermoula, rich and luscious tahini, indispensable dukkah, and a ras el hanout that will warm your heart and turn a tough day around.
About Cafe Suliman:
Café Suliman is a café that draws inspiration from the many casual cafés and eateries around the Levant, Egypt, North Africa, and The Arabian Gulf. They serve simple and comforting home cooked food that relies heavily on the bounty and beauty of the Arabian pantry.
Ahmed Suliman, is a Sudanese national who grew up in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Spending the first half of his life immersed in a cosmopolitan culture that attracted people from all over the Middle East to create a unique melting pot. The youngest of three boys he spent most of his time in the kitchen (not allowed to touch anything of course) with his late mother “Afaf”. He has spent hours on the phone as she walked him step by step on how to make Mahshi (stuffed vegetables with rice) or Bamia Bil Lahma (okra with lamb). "The smell of garlic and onions is a scent that brings comfort and happiness to me. I hope to share my story as an immigrant to bring you a unique experience written in food, culture and history."
