Raleigh Library Film Lab: Script to Screen
Schedule
Sat Apr 11 2026 at 11:00 am to 02:00 pm
UTC-05:00Location
Memphis Public Libraries - Raleigh Branch (Raleigh) | Bartlett, TN
The lab is built around guided “creative stations” that mirror a real development process:
Writing Station: Clarify your idea, genre, main characters, and story engine while building a simple outline you can expand into a script.
Development Station: Strengthen the structure, identify your core themes, and define what your project is really about and who it’s for.
Pitch Station: Turn your concept into a pitch-ready package—key logline, short synopsis, and a simple pitch deck layout you can use for meetings, grants, or future opportunities.
Participants will leave with practical tools, templates, and next-step guidance—plus a stronger understanding of how to carry a project from “in my head” to “on the page” to “ready to present.”
What to bring: A laptop or tablet is recommended (but not required). We’ll be referencing scriptwriting tools such as Celtx (free tier available), and we’ll build pitch materials using Canva or PowerPoint. If you already use a different scriptwriting program or platform, that’s perfectly fine.
Lunch will be provided for registered participants, and spots are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
