We are thrilled to welcome Vicente Garcia, a renowned ceramics artist and professor at Central Connecticut State University. Garcia, with degrees in ceramics and sculpture, is celebrated for his innovative building techniques and alternative firing methods.
Event Details
Dates: Friday, February 21 – Sunday, February 23
Meet & Greet: Friday, 6–8 PM
Workshop: Saturday & Sunday, 9 AM–5 PM
The workshop will cover alternative firing techniques: Smoke, Fuming, Saggar, and Raku. Participants should bring 15–20 bisque-fired pieces (stoneware, porcelain, or Raku cone 10 clay bodies, fired to cone 06/05).
Materials & Safety:
Bring firing materials (feathers, hair, glossy magazines). Wear protective clothing (cotton shirts, jeans, sturdy shoes). Jackets and eye protection provided.
