Join Tom Henderson, owner of Pendleton Ceramics in this centuries-old Japanese ceramics technique. This low temperature process involves removing red-hot pottery from a kiln and immediately placing it into a reduction chamber with combustible materials like sawdust and newspaper. This unique process creates unpredictable and very cool effects on both glazes and raw clay. Students are asked to bring two (bisque!) fired pieces, comfortable clothing and a water bottle, as you will be outside! Directions for destination will be provided upon registration. Spots are limited.
