Join the City of Cape Coral as we celebrate America's 250th year and the official unveiling of a new community landmark.
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, the City will host the Raise the Flag Ceremony at Bernice Braden Park, marking the completion of the community-funded project to construct the tallest free-standing American flagpole in Florida.
Residents, veterans, community partners, and visitors are invited to attend this special patriotic event. The ceremony will culminate with the American flag being raised for the first time atop the 250-foot flagpole, celebrating the generosity and support of the community members who helped make the project possible.
Created in honor of America's 250th birthday, the flagpole stands as a lasting symbol of freedom, democracy, and unity. Located at the foot of the Cape Coral Bridge, it is intended to serve as a source of civic pride for generations to come.
