A small, ragtag boutique ad agency in Seattle Washington reinvigorates a beloved beer brand by embracing its local identity, and in turn, changes beer advertising, and advertising as we know it, forever.
Rainier: A Beer Odyssey, aside from presenting the visual spectacle of the original ads themselves, is an oral history of a long-forgotten time in Seattle. All the major players: writers, actors, designers, directors, producers, cinematographers, and editors, finally tell the story as it happened. Most of these people have never participated in on-camera interviews about their groundbreaking work.
There will be a meet and greet before the movie, where you can meet movie producers Justin and Robby Peterson, as well as actor Mac Macdonald, who starred in many of the commercials. There will also be a panel Discussion after the movie where you can ask all your burning questions. Merch will be available, along with a book that serves as a companion to the movie.
