Join TCWP staff and the Village of Boston Heights for a hands-on rain garden installation at Matthews-Thomas park!
Rain gardens are a simple but powerful type of green infrastructure, designed to capture and soak up rainwater where it falls, helping reduce stormwater runoff, erosion, and pollution entering our local streams.
You’ll help us install a new rain garden at the park while learning a bit about how rain gardens work, why they matter, and how green infrastructure can help protect our local waterways.
No gardening or landscaping experience is necessary. We’ll provide guidance and tools. Come ready to get your hands dirty and make a difference for the park and our watershed!
What to bring:
Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy, closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Bring a reusable water bottle, and we'll provide the tools and instruction.
Whether you're new to rain gardens or already have one in your yard, we'd love to have you join us!
