Rails, Trails & Roots | Brownsville Guided Bike Ride | Celebrate Trails Day

Held during RGV Startup Week and in celebration of National Trails Day, this guided experience will take participants along Linear Park and the Belden Trail, highlighting how former rail corridors are being reimagined as spaces for recreation, mobility, and community life.

The Ride Experience

4:00 PM – Gather at Linear Park for Check-in and Intro.

Kick things off with a short talk and video on the history and evolution of Brownsville’s trail network.

4:30 PM – Ride to Ruth & Gene’s Garden (Belden Trail)

Enjoy a guided ride with stops along the way. At the garden, participants will take part in light refreshments, interactive mapping activities, and community conversations.

5:30 PM – Ride back to Linear Park

Wrap up the experience and head back as a group.

What to Expect:

• Guided historical and cultural interpretation along the route
• A community feedback activity focused on trail connectivity
• A stop at Ruth & Gene’s Garden with refreshments and networking

Registration Details:

• Open to up to 50 participants
• Free to attend
• Bring your own bike or reserve a rental during registration
• $5 refundable deposit required to reserve a City of Brownsville Bianchi bike

Helmets are required for all riders!
