Our first #RailRidersClub trip of the new year is an easy one to the outskirts of Bangkok. We will be taking a train to do a boat ride down Maha Sawat Canal in Nakhon Pathom Province. We then have a side trip to the Film Museum where there is a steam locomotive on display together with an exhibition in a carriage linking railways and movies. Then we will head back to Bangkok. We will be taking slow trains for this trip and so no need to book tickets in advance. Our first train departs from Bangkok (Hua Lamphong) at 9:20am. Arrive at least 30 minutes in advance to buy your ticket. We will be getting off at Wat Suwan Station. From here it is a short walk to the canal where we will charter a boat. Each boat costs 550 baht to hire and the cost will be shared among the members.
We will finish our boat tour at Sala Ya. From here we will take a Grab taxi to the nearby Film Museum. Once we have finished there, we will take a Grab back to Sala Ya station to take a train back home.
Please click on going if you are intending to go. We need to control numbers because of the boat size. Feel free to post any questions in the discussion area.
