The Giant Rafflesia Of Cameron Highlands
Rafflesia is one of the largest flowers in the world. Because of the scarcity of the Rafflesia in Cameron Highlands, it is now a very rare occurrence that the Rafflesia will bloom in Cameron Highlands and no one can be sure of the next occurrence of the plant in bloom. The Orang Asli in Cameron Highlands has been painstakingly protect these rafflesia flowers in order for it to bloom to its maturity till today.
The rafflesia flower itself can grow over 1 meter in diameter and weigh up to 10 kilograms, it is a parasitic plant that has no roots or leaves and some say it has a slightly pungent odour.
The journey begins with 45-60min 4WD to the starting point and almost one to two hours of trekking through lowland rainforest. Our experienced Orang Asli guides will show you the safest routes to the latest rafflesia bloom. Enjoy the photo taking YET take a great deal of care in order not to destroy the blooming buds of young rafflesia. Our guide will explain in great lengths during this tour.

0845am: 4WD Pickup
0915am: Arrival at trailhead
0930am: Start hiking and look for rafflesia
1130am: Start going back to trailhead
1200pm: 4WD drive back
0100pm: Arrive at meetup point. Freshen up and Good bye

Bloomed rafflesia sightings will be confirmed few days before event date. Event will be cancelled and full refund if no rafflesia blooming is to be taken placed. However, no refund if bloomed rafflesia is damaged (only known during actual hike). e.g. tree fall, animal destroy, human negligence.

- Replacement is possible. It's participant's onus to find their own replacement.
- Activities are subject to weather conditions which includes trip cancellation by the organiser should the weather be completely unsafe. This will be at the discretion of the organisers. We are dealing with the elements of nature, which is beyond our control.
