Radio City Sessions ft Katey Brooks & Ed Tattersall | Hosted by The Jackson Line

Showcasing the best in Country and Americana songwriting talent from across the UK and beyond, the Radio City Sessions are limited-audience events which take you behind the scenes of the songwriting process. Discover the stories behind the songs, get insights into the songwriting craft, and then hear the songs in the most ‘country’ way possible – a guitar and a vocal.
The songwriters' round is a staple of the Nashville music scene, and the Radio City Sessions capture the intimacy of those events, enabling you, the listener, to discover the stories behind the songs. Each artist performs their own music (whether this has been released under their own name or written for another performer) as well as a cover song that has a particular meaning for them.
Between each song, the artists will tell their stories, exploring their songwriting process and chatting with the other artists on the stage. There will be laughter, there will be fun and there may also be some tears!
The night is hosted by The Jackson Line. Over the last few years, the band have been playing and releasing songs from their sophomore EP, California, recorded in Winnipeg, Canada with Juno Award-winning producer Murray Pulver (The Bros. Landreth, Katy Hurt). The first single, Shade of the Pines, featured on Apple Music’s 'Today's Country' editorial playlist, while the second, Gonna Get To You, was showcased on Baylen Leonard's Front Porch on Absolute Country as well as on Countryline Radio.
Katey Brooks
A rebellious artist that resists formula, the ‘powerful’ (Evening Standard) award-winning singer, songwriter & producer Katey Brooks brings a seamless blend of Americana and Folk to listeners’ ears, which has earned her radio play from BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, 6music, Canada’s CBC, Jazz FM, and Amazing Radio amongst many others.
No stranger to the stage, Brooks has toured in the US, Australia, Canada, Europe and the UK. She has shared bills with artists like Cat Burns, Nick Mulvey, Newton Faulkner, and Yola, as well as playing big name festivals such as Glastonbury, WOMAD, Paralympics, the Australian National Folk Festival, and several BBC Introducing stages, to name a few.
KB’s album Revolute was released in 2019 to huge critical acclaim across the world including being called “one of the best albums of the year” by music magazine Popdust, and premiers for the singles from Billboard, Pride Magazine, and Gay Times. Since then Brooks has released a live album, several singles, and had multiple songwriting collaborations including co-writing ‘Let It Burn’ with award-winning Americana/blues artist Elles Bailey, which featured on her chart topping 2024 album Beneath The Neon Glow.
‘Let It Burn’ has since gone on to feature on three different seasons of hit TV show Love Island. Brooks’ vocals have featured on records with Brian May (Queen), Bill Wyman (Rolling Stones), Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) and Paloma Faith. Her music has been used in the West End (PRIDE), TV (Hulu’s Harlots soundtrack) and film (My Christmas Hero). She has so far earned three Best Original Song awards at film festivals.
Brooks has made fans out of her influences and heroes including Joss Stone, Nick Van Eede (Cutting Crew), and Chris Difford (Squeeze) who have all spoken warm words of support for her. It’s safe to say she has been catching the attention of big names, with her song ’All Of Me’ making the finals in the International Songwriting Competition in 2023, whose judges included Mariah Carey, Coldplay & Tom Waits.
After a brief flirt with the dance world in 2024-25 Brooks is back to her Americana/singer-songwriter best this year with shows, exciting collaborations, and a new acoustic record coming this autumn!
