Walking through the radical histories and present-day struggles of the city of Glasgow
About this Event

When booking, choose Donations for pay what you can tickets or Tickets if you are redeeming a voucher.

Join us to celebrate some of the West End's less famous residents and visitors. The sandstone walls of these tenements hold memories of subversive speeches, world-changing translations and back-room anarchist printing presses. In more recent days the area has seen student occupations, picket lines and direct action, alongside community campaigns and actions seeking to confront the city's imperial past.

Time and distance: This tour will last approximately two hours and will cover 1.5 miles, finishing in Kelvingrove Park (closest subway St George's Cross).

Accessibility: This route is mainly on city pavements and does include some steep hills. The tour visits Ashton Lane which is a more uneven cobbled surface. There are no opportunities for seated stops along the majority of this route; stops in Kelvingrove Park will have bench seating subject to availability, this is two stops out of twelve and both are located towards the end of the tour.

If you would like to see a detailed map of the route, or if there is any further information that would be helpful for access please email us: radicalglasgowtours at gmail.com.

Pricing: our public tours are always pay what you can. Suggested donations are £5/£7/£15(solidarity rate). If the cost is in any way a barrier to you taking part, please just drop us a line and we will sort you out with free tickets!

Multiple tickets: Eventbrite won't accept orders for multiple tickets under the pay what you can option. If you want more than one, you can either choose Tickets (they will be £7) or if you want to pay a lower (or higher!) amount then anoyingly you'll need to order each ticket separately. Sorry for the hassle!

Dogs: apart from guide dogs, we ask that people please not bring dogs on the tours.
