About this Event
Utilizing neuroscience, human brain development, somatic movement, breath awareness, and indigenous and cultural practices to enhance our skills of parenting children and reparenting ourselves.
During the workshop we will engage in song, storytelling, movement, and breath meditations to practice these skills, and leave with a community of like minded people motivated to raise healthy, kind humans.
This workshop is for BIPOC parents and parents-to-be who desire to raise their children with healthy tools for co-regulating and experiencing their emotions. This workshop will provide tools for parents managing their own stress and anxiety and to reparent themselves through grace and love.
Please wear comfortable clothes. Light snacks, tea and water available.
Led by Jamila Wilson
Jamila is the mother of a vivacious six year old unicorn fairy mermaid. She has been teaching yoga and breath awareness since 2010. She has also worked in children and youth leadership development for the last two and a half decades. From working with children and youth directly to creating workforce and leadership develop programs and curriculum, Jamila has a lived experience that prioritizes the strengths, skills, and brillance of little humans. Since becoming a mother she has incorporated neuroscience best practices of human development with the regulating tools of breath awareness to curate an offering for parents and individuals re-parenting themselves to be gentle while shepherding (or repairing) little humans.
