Join us for an evening of healing and self-discovery at Inner Purpose, where we’ll explore the transformative power of radical acceptance and trauma-informed yoga. This evening will begin with a 20–30 minute talk on Radical Acceptance, led by Lindsay Zhogeb, a licensed mental health counselor extensively trained in trauma treatment. Lindsay will explore how trauma can affect our minds, bodies, and emotions, often leaving us feeling stuck or disconnected. Through the practice of radical acceptance, we’ll discuss how embracing our experiences with compassion can create space for healing, self-understanding, and growth—without the pressure to “fix” everything at once.Following the talk, immerse yourself in 90 minutes of Trauma-Informed Yin Vin Yoga, facilitated by an experienced yoga instructor. This gentle, restorative practice is designed to release tension, calm the nervous system, and reconnect with your body in a supportive, nonjudgmental space.

FAQs:
~This would be my first yoga class. Can I join?
Absolutely! This session is beginner-friendly and designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of prior experience.
~I have experienced trauma—what if I become triggered?
We prioritize body safety in all our practices and recognize that yoga movement can sometimes stir up emotions; our trauma-informed approach ensures a supportive space for you to explore at your own pace. Our facilitators are experienced in holding space for these situations and can guide you if needed - our highest priority is creating a safe and caring environment. Both the talk and yoga practice are designed with sensitivity in mind, and you are encouraged to listen to your body and take breaks as needed.
~I have a lot of anxiety about attending—how can this event help me?
We understand that trying something new can feel overwhelming. This workshop is intentionally crafted to reduce stress and provide a grounding, calming experience. From the soothing yoga practice to the supportive community setting, our goal is to help you feel at ease while exploring tools that foster inner peace and resilience.
~What is Trauma-Informed Yoga, and how can it help?
Trauma-Informed Yoga is an approach to creating a safe, supportive space in which students can learn emotional regulation skills through connection with the breath and increased body awareness. The physical activity of this practice allows students to feel more comfortable in their body. Regulated breathing calms the parasympathetic nervous system, and practicing present awareness in the body can equilibrate the dissociative effects of trauma. This practice supports healing by encouraging a sense of groundedness and balance.
