RADIANCE: SHOAH COMMEMORATION CONCERT

Over several millennia the Jewish diaspora has ranged across the globe, synthesizing and contributing to the cultural fabric of the lands in which they found themselves. Drawing on influences from their own rich artistic heritage while infusing the flavors of their local surroundings, the resulting contributions of Jewish musicians to the artistic canon are incredibly diverse. Duo Athena, comprised of violinist Olga Shpitko and pianist Anna Keiserman, will present Jewish Legacy **-XXI. This project will feature music of Jewish composers from different lands and eras, including composers who perished during the Holocaust as well as contemporary Israeli and American composers. The product of painstaking research and thoughtful selection, this program will present several remarkable composers whose fascinating works deserve a fresh look.
