About this Event
The University of London is proud to present an in-person event bringing and inviting leaders, experts and the wider community to discuss and explore solutions to advancing race equality. This conference is a demonstrable part of the University of London’s commitment and work with the Race Equality Charter and its principles.
This conference will be an incredible day marking a critical milestone in the University of London’s journey. It is our aspiration to truly tackle racism and actualise our position and commitment to advancing race equality as an institution and in connection with our federation members.
Whilst the conference will highlight and assess the specific challenges and inequalities that racially minoritised people face in higher education, this event will be a joyful space showcasing the celebration that racial justice work brings to higher education and society.
The conference is presented by the Office for Equality and Inclusion at the University of London, hosted by Dr Arun Verma.
Keynote Speakers:
- Dr Jessica Jones Nielsen - Assistant Vice President (EDI- Race Equality), City University of London
- Josette Bushell-Mingo OBE - Principal of Royal Central School of Speech and Drama
Hosted by the Office for Equality and Inclusion at the University of London, the day will include activities to reflect-in-action and discussion about racial justice in higher education. The day includes a special performance from Doëlla, Jazz Songstress.
