Rachel Arthur presents - What Dictates The Fate of Micronutrients?

Whether those micronutrients are provided through the diet and dietary interventions we've implemented, or prescribed as supplements, this is quite a substantial question. Whenever we make nutritional recommendations for an individual, we're often being a little wishful.

Our wish, for example, might be that the zinc gets absorbed optimally, goes directly over their BBB to their brain, and helps with their GABA production. That's not quite how it works, though.

The truth is that we can have those intentions and objectives behind a prescription, but they may not come to fruition. They may not prove to be the destiny of that micronutrient because many factors dictate its fate, and our intention is not one of them.

We're going to explore all the elements that do determine actual the fate of any micronutrient. These factors have a great deal to do with the inherent, sometimes quirky, characteristics & pharmacokinetics of each of our beloved micronutrients, and, of course, with the host and the interface between the two.

Rachel Arthur's favourite colour is blood red.
As in that deep red of our blood that tells our stories long before symptoms appear.
As in the deep red of truth & the kind of clinical courage that asks us not just to know more - but to think differently about what we already know. And the boldness required to have the conversations healthcare often avoids.
