ENTERTAINMENT LINEUP:
CRYS MATTHEWS
2025 International Folk Music Awards Artist of the Year - A troubadour of truth, Nashville resident Crys is among the brightest stars of the new generation of social justice music-makers. An award-winning, prolific lyricist and composer, Matthews blends country, Americana, folk, blues, and bluegrass into a bold, complex performance steeped in traditional melodies punctuated by honest, original lyrics. She is made for these times.
THE GAIS DO DO BAND
Dance with pride to the Cajun music of the Gais Do Do Band. Their tight rhythms and French lyrics will get you up and moving. The star-studded band features Gina Forsyth on fiddle and vocals, Rosemary Benoit on accordion and fiddle and Maegen Benoit on drums and vocals. Jan Boney brings rhythm guitar and Sam Wróbel adds bass to that rhythm that keeps you on your feet. Dance like you wanna!
BR POET LAUREATE
Kalivyn Marquix is a delta griot using poem, song, and performance to discover and preserve the histories, mythologies, and futures of queer black people. Kalivyn is the current Baton Rouge Poet Laureate where their work focuses on enfranchising the imaginations of young adults by giving them the space to discover and resources to fashion their narratives and the narratives of their community.
DRAG PERFORMANCES
Our returning queen from last year's inaugural event returns - the dazzling Sa’Riyah Foxx Alexander. Plus, joining us this year will also be Aariyah Sinclaire and Myr’ahj S. Synclaire.
