The QuitSmart program combines powerful treatments to help attendees break free from tobacco. QuitSmart consists of four sessions, which will be held April 7, 21, 23 and 28. All sessions will be held at 4:30 p.m. in Conference Room 1 at Cass Regional Medical Center, located at 2800 E Rock Haven Road in Harrisonville. QuitSmart was created by Dr. Robert Shipley, director of the Duke University Quit Smoking Clinic, and is taught by a certified QuitSmart leader. In a study of five U.S. Air Force bases, 66% of QuitSmart participants were still smoke-free six months after quitting, compared to 16-30% of those in four other stop-smoking programs.
The QuitSmart kit includes a guidebook, a hypnosis CD, and a patented cigarette substitute.
The QuitSmart program is free to the public. Registration is required, and participants must attend the first session in order to complete the program. To register, or for more information, please contact Terry Johns at (816) 380-5888. ext. 3200, or email Jackie at [email protected]. The deadline to register is Tuesday, April 1, at noon.
