Here's where you start--no experience needed! The project is a quilt that measures 45’’ x 54’’.If you've ever had the desire to learn to make a quilt but did not know where to start, this is the class series for you! Learn everything you need to know to get on your way to successful quilt making in this four-week class. To ensure great results, we encourage you to select your fabric with our help! In class we will learn rotary cutting, strip piecing and finish with layering and binding plus tips and tricks to use on future projects. This class specializes in hands-on instruction and individual attention.
Learn a simple block and then build on your skills.
In addition, you will learn how color choices change the design and focus of the block. These fundamentals will open you up to the wonderful world of quilting.
This course is designed to help the beginning quilter gain confidence with piecing skills. Students will learn to read a pattern, fabric care, pressing techniques and much more. By the end of your four-week course, you will have your finished top complete!
On the first night of class, you will receive the fabric requirements, pattern, and supply list.
You will then learn about fabric color and value before going into Betty J’s Mercantile to shop with Carl and choose your own fabrics for your quilt. Fabric cost and supplies are not included in the class fee.
Sewing Machines are not needed the 1st class.
You must know how to thread your sewing machine and wind a bobbin. Sewing machine in working order.
The sessions are broken down into four 3-hour session as follows:
1) fabric care and selection
2) rotary cutting, scant 1/4” seam, pressing and cutting strip sets into blocks.

Cancellation Policy
Refunds are available when your cancellation is made prior to TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE CLASS, less than a $10.00 handling fee. After that, no refunds or credits can be given. If we must cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, individuals registered for that class will be contacted and given the choice of a full refund or the substitution of another class.
