Quilt Station #7*

Choo, choo! Pull into Station #7 and discover the magical world of turning fabric into beautiful expressions of art and function. Quilt Station #7 is for anyone (all genders) who want to practice quilting in community.

On these Sunday afternoons, Shakti in the Mountains will turn the big sunny front room into a creativity center for quilters. There will be a fabric cutting station, a pressing station, a piecing station with several sewing machines, and a hand-quilting station which includes sewing on a binding. You are welcome to use the fabric on site as well as any notions and cutting tools that we have. If you have your own sewing machine, we encourage you to bring it.

If you do not have your own quilting project that you want to bring, then you are welcome to learn with an established pattern or to experiment with improv quilting. We have several quilting patterns from which to choose or you can bring your own.

Ultimately, we want Quilting Station #7 to be a fun and relaxing place to play and to visit. There will be some people with quilting experience, and we firmly believe that no matter what your experience level we all learn from each other.

Anyone who wants to quilt is welcome: both beginners and experienced quilters. Children 13 years and younger need to be accompanied by an adult.

Registration required. Shakti Members free. Everyone else welcome at $10.
