English version:
How can we coexist harmoniously and inclusively in an increasingly complex world? Through the prism of our political, cultural and ethnic identities, Kwame Anthony Appiah, Professor of Philosophy and Law at New York University, will take stock of these fundamental questions of living together. He will analyze how identities, capable of encouraging sacrifice for the homeland, can also give rise to dangerous excesses such as xenophobia, and divide people who nevertheless share other common identities. He will propose ethical perspectives for managing these identities, in order to take advantage of their benefits and minimize their negative effects.
