About this Event
What is QPR?
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer—three simple steps anyone can learn to
help save a life from suicide. Just as CPR is a crucial intervention for those experiencing a
cardiac emergency, QPR serves as a critical response for those in mental health crises.
Why Become a QPR Gatekeeper?
Each of us has the potential to recognize when someone we care about is in distress. As a
QPR-trained Gatekeeper, you will learn how to:
Recognize the warning signs of suicide
Offer hope and support
Make connections to appropriate resources and help
By increasing the number of people trained in QPR, we can create a support network
capable of intervening in moments of crisis, similar to how communities have done with
CPR training.
A Proven Impact
Research shows that when communities train individuals in QPR, the likelihood of
recognizing and responding to suicidal crises significantly increases. Imagine being able to
help a friend, colleague, or loved one during their time of need simply because you
recognized the signs and knew how to act.
How Can You Participate?
We’re offering QPR Gatekeeper training sessions and would love you to be part of this
initiative. You can return these essential life-saving skills to your family, workplace, or
community.
