This is a queer-forward space that warmly welcomes allies and the wider community. Whether you’re brand new to ecstatic dance or a longtime mover — you belong here. 🌟

Your night is guided by DJ Megi — known for playful, eclectic, heart-opening musical journeys that move through grounding, release, joy, sweat, softness, and collective energy. 💃🌀

This gathering is part of a weekly dance community, with this night offered once a month as a queer-forward ecstatic dance for queers, allies, and the wider community.
Our hope is that this becomes part of your weekly rhythm — a place where friendships form, regulars return, and a new sober, inclusive queer + ally space continues to grow in Santa Barbara. Whether you come once a month or every week, you are part of what’s being built here. 🌈💛

• Comfortable clothes you can move & sweat in
• Layers for warming up or cooling down
• Anything that helps you feel supported (journal, shawl, small pillow)

📝 WHAT TO KNOW
• This is a sober, substance-free space
• This is a consent-centered dance floor — everyone honors boundaries
• No talking on the dance floor during the journey (connection happens before & after)
• You’re welcome to dance big, dance small, rest, stretch, or sit anytime
• Shoes off
• Phones off or tucked away to support presence & safety
• You never have to dance with anyone — your autonomy is always respected
• Late arrival is welcome, though on-time arrival is encouraged for the opening circle

OPENING
Info: We begin with a gentle opening circle and guided cross body movement meditation led by DJ Megi. This right and left brain balancing movement awakens the spine, gets energy flowing, settles the nervous system, and helps you arrive fully in your body.
No experience needed. Come as you are and ease into the dance.

DANCE WAVE
Info: The Five Rhythms are a movement meditation practice that moves through flowing staccato chaos lyrical and stillness Each rhythm reflects a different quality of energy emotion and expression in the body
Flowing is about grounding and circular movement
Staccato is about clear expression direction and boundaries
Chaos is release freedom and letting go of control
Lyrical is lightness creativity and effortless movement
Stillness is integration presence and rest
We will move through one full hour long wave guided by eclectic playful music that supports grounding, release, joy ,softness, and connection.

CLOSING CIRCLE
Info: COMMUNITY & INTEGRATION - We’ll gather together at the end of the dance to sit in the container we’ve created and gently land the journey. This is a time to share names, feel the collective energy, and connect as real humans in the room.
You’re welcome to speak or simply listen. This circle is about witnessing, belonging, and growing into community together—a soft, grounded return after the wave of movement.
This is where strangers begin to feel like community.
