Queer NEPA and the Sierra Club invite you to join us for an outdoor walking experience at Columcille Megalith Park in Bangor. May 9th, 11:00 am - 1:00 pmSpend the day in contemplation and exploration as we visit the park’s striking monoliths, curated by the park’s founders between 1980 and 2005. We’ll gather in *The Circle*, located just inside the main gate, before beginning our walk.
Our route will take us to the St. Columba Chapel and up to Thor’s Gate. From there, we’ll follow the Faerie Ring Trail to the Inner Walk, looping back around the Labyrinth for an opportunity to pause for individual meditation.
The total distance is approximately one mile, with plenty of places to stop, rest, and take photos. Columcille features multiple interconnected trails that weave through the landscape and border the Kirkridge Retreat Center, including spur trails that connect to the Appalachian Trail. Please note that the paths are unpaved, include some uphill sections, and may be muddy after rain—proper footwear (and hiking poles if needed) is recommended.
This is an all-ages, family‑friendly outing. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Leashed pets are welcome, and owners are responsible for cleanup.
