About this Event
This is a nature walk for queer community exploring flowers - both wild and cultivated - in Bute Park during the ancient Roman Floralia festival. The Floralia festival was dedicated to the goddess Flora, an ancient deity of flowers and spring.
We'd like to invite you to wear bright, colourful clothing to honour the spritit of the festival!
"The Floralia was an ancient Roman festival held from April 28 to May 3 to honor Flora, the goddess of flowers, vegetation, and fertility. While historically a spring fertility festival, it is discussed in modern, queer-inclusive scholarship for its carnivalesque, boundary-blurring, and counter-cultural elements."
Walk led by poet and writer Mab Jones, and artist Howl Hubbard
