Queer Maker Day
About this Event
Join us on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 12–4 PM for Queer Maker Day, a free community celebration highlighting LGBTQ+ artists, makers, writers, craftspeople, and small businesses at the historic Alice Austen House.
Set against the stunning waterfront grounds of Alice Austen House, a nationally designated site of LGBTQ+ history, Queer Maker Day brings together creative voices from across New York City and beyond for an afternoon of art, community, history, and connection.
Visitors are invited to explore the museum dedicated to pioneering Victorian Lesbian photographer Alice Austen, stroll through the Queer Ecologies Project gardens, and meet an incredible lineup of queer artists and makers offering handcrafted jewelry, ceramics, textiles, prints, publications, artwork, apparel, and more.
This event is an opportunity to support local queer-owned businesses, discover unique handmade goods, connect with fellow community members, and celebrate the creativity and resilience of LGBTQ+ communities. Enjoy beautiful waterfront views, AAH’s current exhibition Radical Botany: The Politics of Flowers, food, and lively community!
