Freshkills Park: Mindfulness Hike
About this Event
Lace up your shoes for a mindful hike at Freshkills Park! Freshkills Park staff and AmeriCorps members will take you behind the scenes to visit areas that are currently closed to the public.
On this 2+ mile hike, you’ll participate in self-reflection exercises, write some nature-inspired poetry, enjoy a small picnic (please bring your own small lunch), and spend some quality time outdoors.
Along the way, you'll learn about the past, present, and future of Freshkills Park. We'll make stops to reflect on and enjoy the scenery.
This hike is donation-based and we suggest a $10 donation per participant, but we understand everyone is in a different position to give and we thank you. Your donation supports the education, programming, and research at the Freshkills Park Alliance and makes programs like this possible.
Meeting Location: 350 Wild Ave, New York, New York, United States, 10314 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/NKm3pTLiTn5GYRMa6)
We will meet at the North Park Phase 1 parking lot located at 350 Wild Ave, past the Marriott hotel. From here, we will walk together to North Mound. (Directions here)
