Queer History in Racine (250 years: the untold story)

Presented in collaboration with Racine Public Library as part of America 250, this program explores the history and impact of LGBTQ plus communities in Racine. Join longtime resident and community leader Carl Hubbard as he shares his experiences and insights drawn from over 50 years in Racine. Carl will reflect on his work with local organizations, including the LGBT Center of SE Wisconsin, and on his role in developing Safe Zone Training programs that educate businesses, faith communities, and nonprofits about LGBTQ+ history and inclusion. This program highlights the importance of preserving and sharing local queer history as part of our broader community story. Introduction by Jessica MacPhail.
