About this Event

In our March Queer Book Club 🌈 of 2026 we will be reading Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe (they/them).

This beautifully illustrated and deeply honest book explores identity, queerness, gender, and the lifelong process of understanding oneself. Through comics, Kobabe shares their journey with gender, pronouns, asexuality, family, and self-acceptance in a way that is accessible, tender, and profoundly relatable for many in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Gender Queer has also been one of the most frequently challenged and banned books in the U.S., making it not only a powerful personal story, but an important cultural one.

This book club is a space for:

  • reflection
  • connection
  • curiosity
  • and shared conversation in community

We’ll talk about identity, belonging, family, language, embodiment, and what it means to grow into ourselves over time.

✨ All queer folks and allies who show up with care and respect are welcome.

Aimee Herman and Sam Field will guide this month’s gathering.

Aimee (they/them) is a writer, educator, and performer whose work weaves poetry, body, and belonging into powerful invitations toward self-expression. They have a gift for creating creative and inclusive spaces where people feel seen and inspired to bring their own stories forward.

Sam (she/her) is a psychotherapist and community builder whose work centers on queerness, identity, and emotional safety. Sam’s approach is thoughtful, embodied, and deeply affirming, creating a space where every voice belongs and every experience has value.

Together, Aimee and Sam hold space that is both intellectually stimulating and emotionally nourishing.

📍 Please note: This event takes place in a historic building on the second floor. Unfortunately, there is no elevator access at this time.
