Bogen kan findes online her: https://www.lesliefeinberg.net/ .

If you’re looking for a cozy queer book club, then come along the 15th of November at 4:30 pm, when Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke’s Queer Club’s Book Club meets up. This time we’re reading Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg, a novel that tells a story of gender, sexuality and longing (description below). The book is available online at https://www.lesliefeinberg.net/ . Please be aware that the book contains scenes of graphic violence and SA, so please check the content and trigger warnings for further information, and only read what you are comfortable with. For this book club meeting, we’re asking you to read the book (or most parts of it) beforehand, since we plan on discussing both the book in general and some passages that we’ve chosen for the meeting.
We’ll meet in Café Mellemfolk, Mejlgade 53.
Generally, if anyone has a suggestion for a fiction, factual or political LGBTQIA+ related text, that they would like to read and discuss together one of the next times, then that is more than welcome.
Anyone is welcome to show up and join in. We look forward to seeing you <33
Description of Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg:
Woman or man? This internationally acclaimed novel looks at the world through the eyes of Jess Goldberg, a masculine girl growing up in the "Ozzie and Harriet" McCarthy era and coming out as a young butch lesbian in the pre-Stonewall gay drag bars of a blue-collar town. Stone Butch Blues traces a propulsive journey, powerfully evoking history and politics while portraying an extraordinary protagonist full of longing, vulnerability, and working-class grit. This once-underground classic takes the reader on a roller-coaster ride of gender transformation and exploration and ultimately speaks to the heart of anyone who has ever suffered or gloried in being different.
