About this Event
For any Queer identifying person who is interested in history or storytelling.
Throughout history different groups and communities of people have crafted their own legends and mythic figures. This has been, in part, a byproduct of the oral tradition; as histories are passed from person to person the details shift, fragments are lost and events misremembered.
As a community who have always had to preserve our own past, there has been a focus on ensuring that we remember the true deeds and words of those who came before. In the seriousness of that process, we have not felt the need to create a myth.
But is it not worth asking - who is our Robin Hood? What do queer people want from angels and fairies? What are the creatures that come for us in the night and what will stand in their way?
The workshop will mostly be discussion based, no strenuous exercises planned. Each section will be structured around whole group discussions, breaking into smaller groups and then a sharing.
Hot & cold drinks provided alongside biscuits, with comfort breaks throughout and a lunch at half time.
There will also be a photographer present to document the day, if you would prefer not to be photographed or have your picture shared then just make me aware.
If you have any questions or thoughts about the day, feel free to email me at [email protected] .
I look forward to hearing from you!
