Queenie the Musical

“Queenie: A Musical” is a jazzy, irreverent comic-noir reimagining of Shakespeare’s Scottish Play (aka Macb*th) set in a neon-lit, 1920s-inspired underworld. The book and lyrics are by Dr. Jack Wann (director). The score is by John Campbell (also music director) and Marty Rosen (producer).
The Plot: From her base at The Sticking Place, Queenie reigns over a strip populated by gamblers, club regulars, hustlers, rumor-mongers —and would-be kings.
When her celebrated (and ambitious) lieutenant, Max, develops a yen for power, the resulting conflict kicks off the musical mayhem. And before long, Queenie’s minions (a trio of Weird Sisters), spirits, a suspicious friend, a ghost, and all the denizens of The Strip are stirring up a bubbling cauldron of confusion.
