About this Event
This workshop consists of classroom sessions, demonstrations, hands-on lessons in the bee yard, homework assignment, and quiz.

Dates: April 19, May 3 & 4, 10, 17, (31st alt bad weather day)
Time: 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Note: Classes are on Saturdays except Sunday May 4. The back to back class days accomidate an essental step in the queen rearing process.
Location: 1400 Quincy St. NE, Washington DC
Prerequisite:
- Completed short course or equivalent and one year of experience
Or
- Two or more years of experience and a demonstrated knowlege of basic beekeeping
Course Description:
Learn the ins and outs of selecting queens to express desirable traits and charitoristics and learn and apply the timing and techniques of queen reaing,.
Participants must attend all class sessions to be eligible for the certificate of completion. In addition to in class time participants will be expected to complete, homework and a comprehensive final quiz.

- Participants in the queen rearing workshop will get to take two queen cells home.
