GCMH Dietitians facilitate a Diabetes and Diabetes Prevention Support Group held once every three months. This group is open to individuals managing diabetes, caring for someone with diabetes, or those who have completed the Diabetes Prevention Program. Sessions focus on healthy living and practical strategies to reduce the risk of complications and diabetes-related conditions.The group meets in GCMH’s Education Room. Please park on the west side of the hospital and enter through the Emergency Department entrance.
This featured session will focus on diabetes medications and will include a presentation by Lisa Veit, PharmD, BCPS. Lisa will provide an overview of commonly used diabetes medications, followed by time for questions and discussion.
Participants can expect expert-led education, group discussion, and a healthy sheet-pan meal sample with a take-home recipe. Attendees will also have the opportunity to help select the topic for the next meeting.
