In a change to the previous listing of Quarks And Quonstellations, we are delighted to announce that this evening's programme will feature a performance from the striking vocal ensemble, The Midsommars. Along with Lofter and Duncan Parsons, this mini festival will celebrate the wonder of small things, the patterns all around us, and the words and music that binds us together in communities.
It's an evening of acoustic music, of joy, of connecting dots, with both silliness and tender sensibilities, all within the intimate space of the beloved Lantern Theatre. There will be music boxes, stringed things, and harmonies of wonder. Not bad for Saturday night as Spring approaches!

The Midsommars
The Midsommars are a one-of-a-kind folk vocal group led by Sylwia Anna Drwal, a renowned voice teacher and composer. They breathe new life into songs dating back to the 16th century, blending them seamlessly with modern pieces, all meticulously arranged to deliver an unforgettable experience—dark, haunting, yet deeply joyous.
This fellowship of female and non-binary singers brings together seasoned performers and those overcoming barriers, offering a safe and empowering space to express themselves through music.
Performing in six languages, their intimate, immersive shows explore themes of nature, love, and mortality, weaving together haunting melodies and powerful harmonies to create a truly atmospheric and transformative journey.

Experimenting with music boxes and loop pedals, Ant Clifford has been writing music under the name Lofter for many years. He is no stranger to The Lantern, and it's fabulous to be welcoming him back as he plays a collection of his songs, ranging from the most delicate to the catchiest.

Duncan Parsons
It sometimes feels like Duncan's part of the furniture at The Lantern! Always a welcome addition to an evening, he will be playing tunes from his various albums, taking in songs about Ladybird Books, Children's TV, The Green Cross Code Man, and Robots.
