In conjunction with our current exhibit on Quakerism and the 300th anniversary of the Matinecock Quaker Meetinghouse, the North Shore Historical Museum invites you to a special evening of history, reflection, and community.Program Highlights
- Tom Hawkins, Recording Clerk at the Matinecock Quaker Meetinghouse, will explore the history of Quakers up to 1725, sharing insights into their beliefs, practices, and influence on early Long Island communities.
- Karly Hoenzsch, Director of Library Program Information Resources at Friends Academy in Locust Valley, together with several Friends Academy students, will continue the story, presenting the Meetinghouse’s role and legacy from 1725 to the present day.
This program offers a rare opportunity to connect past and present, honoring three centuries of Quaker life and influence in our region.
