While QSI may be best known for our defensive firearm classes, we offer many other courses. We've had a lot of requests to put together a comprehensive course covering these three personal safety topics.
This is a course for EVERYONE, regardless of skill level or experience.
If you have a friend or relative who's concerned about personal safety but is not comfortable with the idea of carrying a gun, this is a great course for them!
If you carry a gun, you owe it to yourself to have these skills.
Take advantage of our couple's discount to bring someone you care about!
MANAGING UNKNOWN/UNWANTED CONTACTS
Just about everyone has experienced unwanted contacts with people in public spaces at one time or another. At best, these encounters are inconvenient, at worst, they escalate into violent crime.
This module will provide you with some simple, easy-to-use skills and tactics to recognize and avoid unwanted/unknown contacts and effectively disengage from them before they escalate. Feedback from our students says this is one of the most valuable skill sets we teach, and many of our students report using them regularly.
PEPPER SPRAY
When verbal disengaging is not successful, we need something to fill that gap between the harsh word and physical self-defense. Pepper Spray is a proven effective tool for disengaging from hostile encounters with minimal risk. Learn how to select the best products and use them effectively. Participants will NOT be directly exposed to pepper spray as part of this module.
EMERGENCY TRAUMA CARE
If we've learned anything from watching the news, it's that we have to be prepared to take care of ourselves and the people around us during an emergency. Whether you're at home, at work, or in your vehicle, injuries can happen and unfortunately can be life-threatening. This program will teach you how to manage a medical emergency and treat the three leading preventable causes of death from traumatic injury. This course is accredited as part of the American College of Surgeons "Stop the Bleed" program.
If you're interested, we are also doing our Permit to Carry class on Sunday.
